Clinton Twp. Gratiot Cruise

The Clinton Township Gratiot Cruise is a one-day car cruise that takes place on the first Sunday of August along Gratiot Avenue, from 14 Mile to Wellington in Clinton Township, Michigan.

Before their site was built in Drupal, their site was running on the Cold Fusion platform, and it was not an easy task to update that site at all. I was told by a friend of mine that the Cruise was interested in my services, I put in an "Request for Proposal" request, and I have been managing the site since after the 2009 Cruise. We started working on a new site just after the 2009 Cruise had ended, and had it up and running by January 2010 using a custom theme.

The Photo Gallery was originally using Gallery2, with it being bridged to Drupal. However, within 6 months, the bridge stopped working and instead, I set the gallery up to store all of the photos on the Google Picasa service. Since they are already a Google Apps customer (for email), it was very simple to add Picasa to the account, and all I have to do is upload the photos to Picasa and they automatically appear on the site. In order for this to happen, I am using a custom module called "PhotoPic" for this to work. (NOTE: I did not develop this module, I just happened to find it using a Google search.)

In April 2011, I made numerous tweaks to the site, including a custom-built system to manage and operate the "Sponsor" section of the website. There are two Content Types- "Sponsor Level" and "Sponsor", with several views, and there is a node reference in the "Sponsor" Content Type that links each Sponsor to the Sponsorship Level that they belong in.
